📝 Description

Samsung SM-A013 (Galaxy A01 Core) – MT6357 Power IC Hardware Solution

Samsung SM-A013 (Galaxy A01 Core) is a MediaTek based smartphone, and its main power control is handled by the MT6357 Power IC. In daily repair work, most dead or no-power cases in this model are related to this IC. If the MT6357 is not working properly, the phone will not turn on at all, even with a good battery.

What MT6357 Power IC Does

The MT6357 Power IC takes power from the battery and distributes it to all important parts of the phone. It gives proper voltage to the CPU, RAM, storage, display section, camera, and other circuits. When the power key is pressed, this IC starts the power-on sequence. If it fails, the phone stays completely dead.

Common MT6357 Power IC Problems

In practical repair experience, these are the most common issues seen:

Phone is completely dead, no vibration, no display

Phone does not respond to power key

Phone restarts again and again

Charging current is very low or zero

Power IC area heats up as soon as battery is connected

No display or backlight due to missing voltage

Most of the time, these problems appear after water damage, heavy drop, or charging with low-quality chargers.

How to Check MT6357 Power IC

First, check the battery voltage. It should be around 3.8 to 4.2 volts. After that, check main power lines near the power IC using a multimeter. If battery voltage is present but the phone is still dead, check for short circuit near the MT6357 area.

Using a DC power supply helps a lot. If the phone shows no current or unstable current, the power IC is most likely faulty.

Hardware Solution

In some cases, reflow of the MT6357 IC may temporarily solve the problem, especially if there is dry solder or loose connection. But this is not a permanent solution.

The correct and permanent fix is MT6357 Power IC replacement. Remove the faulty IC using proper hot air temperature, clean the pads carefully, and install a new or reballed IC. After replacement, always check for shorts before connecting the battery.

Also check nearby coils, capacitors, and resistors. Sometimes a small damaged component can also cause power IC failure.

Important Precautions

Always remove battery before heating

Use controlled temperature to avoid board damage

Do not change power IC without proper testing

Clean the area properly after replacement
